The game is not made to be run, if you want to run it then that option is available to you but you have to put up with all the challenges that come with running. You can't really expect Anet to make an area easier just because you want to run it.

Running isn't really something ANet condones or cares about. Tyria is the only campaign to have an "open gate" policy. The concept of running was "fixed" in Factions and Nightfall.

People will tell you, "If you want max armor, go to LA and transport over to Factions/Nightfall." But that's only possible if you spent the money to get the other two campaigns.

As for the 15k Druids armor, the visual appearance is what people like. The protection from monsters is just as good as any other max armor.

I doubt they will change the mobs located south of Beacons. They already changed it once to make it harder...

Perfectly Agreed on that

Your runner friend needs to learn to play. Also, I'd suggest you learn to PARAGRAPH before I learn how to smack people over the Internet. Please reformat your post or expect this thread to... get into a terrible accident. We wouldn't want any accidents to happen, now would we?

No.. No, of course not.

Sounds like your friend isn't that good a runner. Besides its not like you need max armour until you have reached Droks through the primary quest chain, so even if ANET completely blocked runners it wouldn't hurt GW.

Besides if ANET actually wanted people to get ran to Droks it wouldn't be players doing it. Instead we would have an NPC that takes some gold to teleport you there.

Do you need max armor before you get to droks? No.
Was the game meant to be easily runnable? No.
Do they need to change the difficulty of this? No.

As others have said, your "friend" needs to think about switching up the ol' build a little.

Know what happens when a runner dies?

They don't get paid for all that soloing they just did.

That alone should be incentive enough to look at the area they're running, look at the monsters in the area, and take a GOOD look at their build to see what's going on. Running Beacons -> Drok's isn't easy, but it's possible if you know what you're doing.

You don't need max armor to play on. It helps, but it's not a necessity. And if you want the better stuff, well... fight for it or spend your hard-earned plat to convince someone else to fight for you.

Yeah, seriously your friend is not that good at running or not wanting to change their build. Running is SO EASY now that we have 2 new campaigns and an expansion of skills to use. People used to make that run with the old fashioned W/Mo with balanced stance, defensive stance, sprit, charge, and endure pain.

The drok's run requires careful knowledge of the layout. You have to know
a) every aspect of your build and the effective way to use every skill
b) the spawns of the enemies so you know WHEN to use those skills

Wall'o'text.

Seriously, they purposely made it harder to stop people from skipping over 3/4 of the game. What is there to fix?

Droks and southern shiv are easy to run. I've done it on a ranger, monk, and warrior. After you know what to do, it's really boring and easy.

I do support running to a certain extent, but this is to much.

As many have said, running is not an official way to play the game. Also, people make that run everyday; sometimes they make it, sometimes they don't. If anything, your friend should be appreciative of how hard it is becuase it makes it so that she is able to charge more. It sounds like, for the most part, she is able to make the run pretty often but sometimes she just gets cornered or whatever and fails.

I'm all for running, I've even had a runner do that for me once or twice (and I do think it was a female D/A so it might have been your friend ). But asking Arenanet to make that run easier seems like a step backwards in many respects. Especially since they upped the difficulty to its current level about this time last year I think by adding the wurms and such.

I've stopped running. I don't get paid for it, I don't do it for guildies, period. Why? Because when I try to get a group for The Wilds or Bloodstone Fen to get the bonus or get a title on a Canthan character, I can count the people there on one hand. Bloodstone Fen bonus is impossible to solo, and heroes/henchies attack the guardians. If I flag them away from the guardians, they die from the scarabs...because I put them on avoid combat.

It's a lose-lose situation.

Play the game people...it's just a couple more hours of work to get where you need to go.

Since when? Was there some stealth update to it last night I missed, or something?

Wow, I can't believe no one wants this changed...I thought I'd have a lot of supporters, but apparently not. I will point out that I was merely trying to help and don't appreciate getting told about not making paragraphs...and that my friend isn't a good runner. She does southern Shiverpeaks tours all the time, it's just been a while. And how can people NOT want max armor? It's for protection...OMG...

Sorry, but you will not find many supporters for this. You're asking for the game to be made easier. Instead of playing the game like intended, you want to rush through it. What happens when you cannot rush through it? You whine and bitch about it being too hard. Of course it's going to be hard, a single level 20 character is running through groups of multiple level 20+ characters.

The game wasn't meant to be easily runnable. As you can tell, ANet fixed the mistake of running by adding locked gates and such. If anything, ANet should make running areas impossible, so lazy people like you can actually have a chance to play the game.

Guild Wars really isn't hard. If you're looking for an easy game that you can easily beat, go play something else, because Guild Wars is not for you.

Also, I am sorry to inform you, but your friend obviously isn't a good runner, seeing as many people are still very capable of making this run.
